Every now and then Camelot get their data people to delve into their database of winners to see what the luckiest towns, postcodes and locations are, and having run their latest numbers in May 2018 it has revealed some pretty interesting stuff.
UK Lottery Winners By Region
There have now been almost an incredible 5,000 millionaires made in the UK by winning the lottery, and the most recent analysis of this data shows that the luckiest regions in order of number of millionaires are:

Now obviously these winners locations will correlate a fair bit with population density, but it also seems to show that with the South East being the wealthiest region, as the saying goes, money does seem to follow money. Here is a groovy pie chart to show the distribution of millionaires:
The Luckiest Towns In The UK
So, now we have split all the data for lottery winners into regions, let’s go one step further and have a look at the luckiest towns and postcodes in the UK. When we look at the percentage of major UK lottery prize winners per capita the luckiest postcode is RM, which is Romford in Essex, in second place is TS, which is Teeside in the North East of the country, and picking up the bronze medal is WA, which is Warrington in the North West. In terms of the pure number of big winners since the inception of the lottery in the UK, Birmingham has created the most big winners with a huge 3% all on its own, however it must be noted that this is essentially down to the fact that the size of the postcode is absolutely massive compared to most.
And there we have it, you would have thought that the law of averages would mean an even distribution of luck across the UK, however it appears that that may not actually be the case!
